Course Title Labour, Productivity and Livelihood
Course Aim To address the current challenges in the plantation sector with regard to labour, productivity and livelihood
Course Objective
  • At the end of the course, the participants would be able to:-
  • To contextualise the ongoing situation in the plantation sector
  • To address concerns of labour and livelihood in the current global scenario
  • To  engage  in  a  dialogue  between  the  small  growers  and  trade  unions  of  the organised sector
Course Profile Contextualise the plantation sector in globalised economy; current discussions and situations in both the organised and unorganised sector of plantation economy; understanding status of labour, livelihood and productivity concerns of both small and large estates; recent policy and other imperatives
Methodology Lectures, group discussions, case studies and audio-visual presentations.
Participation Level Representatives from Central Trade Unions and Small Growers Associations of the Plantation Sector
