Course Title International Training Programme on “Health Security and Protection of Workers”
Course Aim Market-oriented reforms in the health sector have led to low efficiency of resource allocation and utilization, increasing inequality as well as reducing the ability of the poor to access health care services. This situation creates greater health vulnerability for those who are at greater risk of disease but not under the cover of social protection, such as workers in the informal economy.
Course Objective • To identify the growing occupational and safety risks of workers due to informalisation of work. • To understand the issue of health protection and promotion at workplace. • To understand the need for universal maternity benefits to include women in the workforce. Understand the need for health insurance of workers in order to meet health related insecurities.
