Course Title Course on Research Methods on Gender Issues in Labour during February 18- March 01, 2019 at the Institute’s Campus, NOIDA.
Course Aim The course would enhance the understanding of young researchers to learn about various methods and approaches pertaining to research on gender issues in labour. It would also provide them an opportunity to engage in dialogues, discussions etc. to strengthen their academic endeavors. The course will help in developing an understanding of both qualititative and some aspects of quantitative researches on gender issues in labour. It would encourage researchers to identify emerging areas for research on labour issues from a gender perspective and enable them to theorize and engage in practical applications of their knowledge in their research pursuits
Course Objective · Theoretical Perspectives on gender and labour research across various disciplines; · To understand the various feminist methodologies and approaches in gender research; · Identifying emerging issues in gender and labour research in social sciences; · Introducing various qualitative and quantitative techniques in gender issues in labour research; · To make the participants familiar with recent statistical packages used in social science research
Course Profile Theoretical perspectives, Methods of Qualitative and Quantitative research, research on emerging issues in gender studies, use statistical packages in social science research.
Methodology Through lectures, discussions and interactive sessions.
Participation Level Young teachers and researchers from Universities/Colleges/Research Institutions and professionals in government organisations who intend to pursue their interests in labour research and policy will form the expected groups of participants. For the welfare of vulnerable and marginalized groups of the society, we will appreciate if participants from reserved categories (SC/ST/) are also nominated

Course Aim The programme aims to develop an understanding of the need for social security for workers in the unorganized sector .
Course Objective · Acquaint participants with the concept of social security and the need for social security for informal sector workers · Develop understanding of the various social security and welfare programmes · Familiarize participants with different micro level social security experiments
Course Profile Overview of social security and welfare programmes, sharing community experiments, strategies for initiating community level programmes
Methodology Lectures, interactive sessions, individual and group presentations and case studies
Participation Level Government Officials and Representatives of Central Trade Unions and NGOs. We will appreciate if participants from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) are also nominated. ELIGIBILITY 1. Participants should be above 22 years and below 50 years of age; 2. Should be personally engaged at grass root level activities for at least past two years; 3. Should be fluent in either Hindi or English. Note: 1. Please note that those who have attended Institute’s programme earlier are not to be nominated. If so, they shall be immediately sent back and no travel allowance will be reimbursed. 2. Spouse and family members are not allowed to stay in the Institute’s hostel. 3. Only members of trade unions should be nominated. Please ensure that spouse or relatives of nominee, who are not member of trade union, should not be nominated. 4. Participants are requested to book their return ticket in advance from their own place.

Course Objective · To develop skills and techniques of effective organization building · To foster skills of effective leadership. · To acquaint the participants with the socio-economic and political changes in globalised economy. · To impart knowledge about labour laws, development programmes and schemes.
Course Profile Basic understanding of leadership skills and impact on self and others, communication skills, decision making process, globalisation and its impact on labour
Methodology Lecture, Group discussions, Simulation technique and role play.
Participation Level Trade union leaders from central trade unions working in Organised/Unorganised sector and representative of NGOs from North-Eastern States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. For the welfare of vulnerable and marginalized groups of the society, we will appreciate if participants from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) are also nominated. ELIGIBILITY 1. Participants should be above 20 years and below 50 years of age and should be from North Eastern States only. 2.
