| Course Title | National Training Workshop on Disaster Management from June 24-28, 2019 at VVGNLI Campus, NOIDA. |
| Course Aim | Section 36 and 37 of the Chapter 4 in the Disaster management Act 53 of 2005 envisages the Ministries to undertake responsibilities for disaster risk assessment, prevention, mitigation, preparedness and response. The DM Act also mandates every Ministry/Department to prepare its Disaster Management Plan covering various dimensions and aspects of disaster risk reduction and resilience as well as capacity enhancement and financial strategies for it. In this regard, VVGNLI propose a collaborative workshop with NIDM on Disaster Management during 24-28 June 2019, for the officers/;functionaries of the relevant Ministries/Departments/Institutions to share and exchange knowledge/information on Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience. The training workshop will focus on preparation of Disaster Management Plan by the respective ministry/department/institute. |
| Course Objective | At the end of training workshop, the delegates. participants will be able to • To develop better understanding about Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience(DRR&R) • To discuss various Issues and solutions relating to Work and Livelihoods. • To learn about the relevant Act, Policy, Plan Guidelines and SOPs on Disaster Management in the country. • To know about the important international agreements and declarations on disaster risk reduction, climate change, urbanization and sustainable development. • To initiate activities on formulation of disaster management plan for their functional geographical regimes. • To discuss the collaboration and strengthening mechanisms for effective implementation of disaster management and community based risk reduction related activities. |
