Course Aim The course aims to acquaint the participants from different countries with the immerging issues of employment and the role of skill development and share knowledge, prospects of skill development with effective planning, designing and implementation in generating employment, enhancing employability, entrepreneurship of the labour force in general and youth in particular.
Course Objective Situate the importance of skill development for employment and employability, entrepreneurship in general and for youth in particular in the Emerging Economy; · Understand the linkage between vocational /technical education and skill training with growth and employment; · Acquire knowledge about the vocational/technical educational and training systems around the world along with Indian Initiatives, its various components and good practices; · Understand the challenge of employment generation and designing appropriate active labour market and skill development policies to meet those challenges; · Enable the participants to play larger role along with enhancing individual capacity

Course Title Intenational Training Programmes on International Labour Standards and Promotion of Gender Equality at the Workplace
Course Aim The programme aims to sensitize the participants about the inequalities prevalent in the world of work and the challenges faced by women in the labour market. It would also enable the participants in developing an understanding about the existing legal instruments and international labour standards for ensuring equality at workplace and promoting workers’ rights based on a model of social justice.
Course Objective · To provide a conceptual understanding about the international labour standards in the world of work. · To understand the various international labour standards/international instruments and good practices on gender equality. · To sensitize the participants about the existing legal and national polices on promotion of gender equality at the workplace. · To analyse gender inequalities and discriminatory practices with regard to access to labour market, wages, working conditions, employment security, etc. · To understand the gendered vulnerabilities and intersection of paid work and unpaid/care work, challenges in reconciling paid work and family responsibilities that leads women to precarious forms of employment that remain outside the purview of available legal and policy responses. · To discuss about strategies of promotion of rights to fair/decent work and care within the framework of employment law and policies that would address the larger question of equality of opportunity and women’s employment and sustenance in the labour market

Methodology The course will be highly participative in nature. Lectures by highly qualified team of faculty members of the institute from different disciplinary backgrounds and external experts comprising of extremely distinguished academicians, policy makers and other experts. The lectures will be complemented by individual and group learning activities, group discussions, audio-visual presentations, case studies, experience sharing, country specific project work and study tours.
