Course Title Online Training Workshop on Gender, Work and Development
Course Aim The programme aims to make the participants understand linkages between Gender, Work and Development, identifying issues and sensitise them against gender discrimination related to work and enrich the knowledge of participants with gender sensitive policies, programmes and good practices towards addressing the issues.
Course Objective To develop conceptual understanding about Gender, Work and Development and its linkages To sensitise the participants against gender discrimination, acquainting them with gender sensitive policies programmes for gender equality, equity, agency building of women, decent employment, inclusive growth, Green and Sustainable Development. To enable participants to contribute in their professional and academic work.
Methodology • This training will be delivered in an online mode. The training will primarily make use of lectures, case studies and experience sharing. It will also include group discussions and thus be participative in nature.

Course Objective To make the participants acquainted with various inequalities existing in the work and coverage of social security To sensitize the participants about the legislative framework for social security, social security schemes for workers, and the unique practices in the country To familiarize the participants with labour laws and social security provisions To discuss the unique practices and innovative models of social security for unorganised workers
Course Profile Overview of employment in the unorganized sector; Decent Employment; Concept of Social Security and its status; Social security Code; Social Security Schemes, both Central and State Specific; Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board, funds and schemes; Unique practices adopted to provide social security for unorganised workers

Course Aim The diversification of employment and work arrangements over the years has strong implications for access to adequate social protection. This has been compounded by the emergence of the digital economy, automation and globalization. It is seen that global supply chains connect industries and workers throughout the globe, new technologies have been transforming the workplace, and new professions are emerging. All these dynamics have resulted in lower levels of protection and call for adequate and adapted policy responses. Recognising the importance of this challenges, the Workshop aims at discussing and identifying gaps in social protection resulting from the rise in nonstandard forms of employment and thereby identify the opportunities for structural change in order to reduce risks and ensure effective social protection for all.
