| Course Title | Training Programme on Research Methodology & Introduction to Statistical Package for Social Science [SPSS] |
| Course Aim | The research methodology and data analysis course for research aspirants should address the fundamentals of research methodology, with a focus on theoretical and practical inputs. Specifically, the creation of a research problem, the development of a research hypothesis, and hypothesis testing, doing a literature review, data collection methods, selecting an acceptable parametric or non-parametric statistical approach for data analysis, and drafting a report. |
| Course Objective | To assist participants in defining the research problem, creating a solution to the problem, and selecting an appropriate research design. Based on the nature of the research, to impart competencies for hypothesis creation and testing. To determine the suitability of statistical software package [SPSS] for the analysis of research data. To help participants understand how to write reports and research proposals. To inform participants on current trends in the field of social science research. |
| Course Profile | The course profile would include lectures on parameters of research methods, Introduction SPSS interface, data entry, data cleaning, data transformation, descriptive statistics and graphical representation of data |
| Methodology | The training programme will primarily make use of Lectures, Discussions, Interactive Sessions and practical’s. It will also include Question & Answer sessions and thus be participative in nature. |
