Course Objective To discuss gender issues in labour To develop understanding with regard to new directions in labour laws and judicial interpretations with specific emphasis on women workers; & To develop strategies for effective enforcement of laws related to women workers ; To provide awareness on labour codes.
Course Profile Gender Issues in Labour, Laws related to women at workplace i.e. Equal Remuneration Act, Maternity Benefit Act, Workmen Compensation Act etc, Sexual Harassment at Workplace.

Course Aim The programme aims to sensitize the participants about the changing nature of employment, the inequalities arising out of these changes and the need for social protection. It would enable participants to understand the international standards and existing legal instruments as well as some global best practices in order to promote workers’ rights, based on a model of social justice.
Course Objective Provide an overview of the changing nature of employment, the existing inequalities in the labour market with regard to employment and the need for social security and protection. To sensitize the participants on the various international labour standards/instruments as well as good practices in the area of social security and protection. To develop insight on the existing national polices and legal instruments in the area of social security and protection of workers. To discuss strategies for the promotion of decent work and practices that fulfill the guidelines of the SDGs
Course Profile Existing labour market inequalities, international standards/instruments in the area of social security and protection, challenges with regard to the existing national policies and legislations on social security and protection, international best practices.
Methodology The training programme is flexible and a modular structure cum participatory approach will be adopted for this course.

Course Aim Historically, there is a strong urban-bias in the developmental strategy of the third world. The growth (economic) trickle-down still is the predominant approach of development. The result has been concentration poverty in the rural areas. India is no exception to it. The unprecedented migration crisis indicates towards sever employment challenges in the rural sector. The potential of rural workers without getting sufficient decent employment opportunities end up with forced migration very often resulting in distress. Creation of decent rural employment opportunities provides a crucial livelihood options and an alternative to the rural workers other than taking the root of distressed circular migration. Focus must be shifted to find and create decent employment avenues in the rural areas.
Course Objective To discuss the theories related to rural development in general and employment in particular To understand the development experience of Newly Industrialised Economies (NIEs) To Understand the employment situation in India To analyse the impact of Urban-bias, growth Trickle-down model in employment creation in India. To discuss the impact of migration (internal) on economic conditions of the migrants. To discuss the Gandhian view of labour, employment and village development.
