As the world of work continues to evolve, some emerging work and employment arrangements may provide greater flexibility for workers and employers, but they may lead to significant gaps in social protection coverage. It is therefore necessary to strengthen and adapt social protection systems to a changing world of work. More than ever, they have a key role in preventing poverty, reducing inequality, enhancing income security and enabling workers and their families to better navigate work and life transitions. |

It also provides researchers with an enhanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative methods on gender, poverty and the informal economy.
