Course Title Capacity building Programme for Stakeholders in the building and Construction Sector (SLI, West bengal)
Course Aim The programme aims at empowering the various stake-holders in the Building and Construction Sector.
Course Objective
  • Familiarize the various stake-holders in the Building and Construction Sector with the occupational risks and hazards in  the Building and Construction Sector
  • Provide an overview of the Building and other Construction Workers (RE&CS) Act, 1996
  • Provide an overview of the Building and other Construction Workers’ Welfare Cess Act, 1996
  • Develop  an  understanding  with  regard  to  the    formalities  for  availing  various benefits under BOCW (RE&CS) Act.
Course Profile Understanding various occupational safety and health hazards of workers in the Building and Construction Industry, overview of the Building and other Construction Workers (RE&CS) Act, 1996; overview of the Building and other Construction Workers’ Welfare Cess Act, 1996, overview of various schemes being run by the Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Methodology Lecture, Group Exercise and Simulation Games
Participation Level Representatives of various stake-holders associated with Building and Construction Work from the State of West Bengal.
Faculty Faculty from the VVGNLI, Labour Department Officials and resource persons having the expertise on various aspects of Building and Construction Work
