| Course Aim | The Programme aims at empowering the emerging trade union leaders from rural unorganized sector. |
| Course Objective | The programme is specifically being organised by the Institute in order to achieve following main objectives:- · To provide an overview of the issues in the rural unorganised sector in India; · To develop/sharpen skills of rural trade union leaders to understand, study and analyze rural society; · To provide insights into dynamics of interpersonal and intergroup relationships; · To discuss various issues and aspects related to organisation building; · To create an awareness about legal rights and provisions; · To create an awareness of prospective leaders about various social protection and employment policies; · To make the participants aware about the emerging techniques of organizing rural workers; · To help in locating the resources at the micro and macro level. |
| Course Profile | Understanding Rural Society and Empowering Workers; Overview of the employment in unorganized sector; Orientation on exploitative conditions at work and provisions for protection; Overview of Labour Laws and challenges in labour administration; Social security and social protection; Leadership Skills for Organisation Building; Communication Skills for Effective Leadership. |

| Participation Level | State and District Level Rural Trade Union Representatives from Central Trade Unions working in the Rural Unorganised Sector. For the welfare of vulnerable and marginalized groups of the society, we will appreciate if participants from reserved categories (SC/ST) are also nominated. ELIGIBILITY 1. Participants should be above 21 years and below 50 years of age; 2. Should be personally engaged at grass root level activities for at least past two years; 3. Should have working knowledge of either Hindi or English. |
