in the world of work and the challenges faced by women in the labour market. It would
enable the participants in developing an understanding about the linkages between
gender, work and social protection. The programme also aims at addressing larger
questions of women’s empowerment and agency by effective designing of the social
protection mechanisms in order to prevent gender based deprivation and ensure social
protection through a rights based approach.

Section 36 and 37 of the Chapter 4 in the Disaster management Act 53 of 2005 envisages the Ministries to undertake responsibilities for disaster risk assessment, prevention, mitigation, preparedness and response. The DM Act also mandates every Ministry/Department to prepare its Disaster Management Plan covering various dimensions and aspects of disaster risk reduction and resilience as well as capacity enhancement and financial strategies for it.
In this regard, VVGNLI propose a collaborative workshop with NIDM on Disaster Management during 24-28 June 2019, for the officers/;functionaries of the relevant Ministries/Departments/Institutions to share and exchange knowledge/information on Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience. The training workshop will focus on preparation of Disaster Management Plan by the respective ministry/department/institute.

train the participants to discover how to adjust your management style through
leadership and how to manage people. Leadership skill practice uses role plays,
exercise and practice sessions; using leadership models along with interactive activities

The research methodology and data analysis course for research aspirants should address the fundamentals of research methodology, with a focus on theoretical and practical inputs. Specifically, the creation of a research problem, the development of a research hypothesis, and hypothesis testing, doing a literature review, data collection methods, selecting an acceptable parametric or non-parametric statistical approach for data analysis, and drafting a report.

The growing diversification of work arrangements has become a distinct feature of today’s labour markets. Over the years it has been seen that automation and digitalization have transformed several traditional forms of employment and also led to the emergence of several new forms of employment, such as the ‘platform’ economy. As the world of work continues to evolve, shaped by global trends such as digitalisation, automation and globalisation, as well as socio-demographic changes, social protection systems will need to adapt to changing contexts and demands. While some emerging work and employment arrangements may provide greater flexibility for workers and employers, they may also lead to significant gaps in social protection coverage. It is therefore necessary to strengthen and adapt a social protection system that would address the gaps and changes. A strong social protection system plays a key role in preventing poverty, reducing inequality, enhancing income security and enabling workers and their families to better navigate work and life transitions..
